| Due
to below-normal rainfall and reduced surface water over the
summer rainy season, our region remains in a severe water
shortage. The
Southwest Florida Water Management District has declared
an
extreme water shortage for Hillsborough, Pasco and
Pinellas counties that prohibits all irrigation with
drinking water, including micro-irrigation and hand
watering, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Additionally, the
District has ordered all turf grass renovation, including
turf replacement, be postponed through June 30, 2009.
Tampa's once-a-week irrigation and other restrictions remain in
effect. Customers are urged to
conserve water. Use only
minimal amounts of water necessary to sustain existing plant
material and check for
leaks
both inside and outside. Check the links below for the water restrictions
in your area:
If you live in
another area, contact your local government for
applicable water restrictions.
While irrigation
with
reclaimed water is not restricted, please use it
responsibly. |
