Tampa Parks and Recreation Department provides a variety of water-based programs for all ages and levels, ranging from swim lessons to recreational swimming to training for swim team competition.

Water Safety Tips

Be sure your kids are safe around swimming pools by remembering these Water Safety Tips that won't stop the fun for you and your family.

Swim at the New Tampa Family YMCA Pool

SwimmingThe City of Tampa and the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA have a partnership that will enable the general public to enjoy the new 50-meter swimming pool located at 16221 Compton Drive in New Tampa.  

For more information and procedures, please call the YMCA at (813) 866-9622.

 

Hours:

Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Fridays, 8 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Saturdays, 10 a.m. - Noon

Lifeguards Needed

The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department employs lifeguards who are American Red Cross certified and who are proficient in current rescue and resuscitation techniques; observational skills; proactive lifeguard skills; active and passive rescues; spinal injury management; first responder skills; and advanced first aid and CPR.
