Hillsborough River Greenway
When completed this trail will connect the Dr. Martin Luther King Recreation Complex, four schools, Presbyterian Village and commercial properties to Bayshore Boulevard. This link will add 2.25 miles to the 4.5 miles of Bayshore Linear Park Trail.
There are plans for on-road and off-road trail connections between The Hillsborough River Greenway master plan includes linkages to the Tampa Heights Greenway and the downtown Riverwalk. Additionally, the Hillsborough River Greenway will include the Meridian Bike Trail. The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority is finalizing construction of the Meridian Bike Trail. This facility will link the Channelside District to the Riverwalk, downtown and ultimately Ybor City. Development of trails within East Tampa is being studied. Linkages to the Temple Terrace trails are being planned. Portions of the Hillsborough River Greenway System through downtown are part of the regional trials system. |
The
half-mile,12 foot-wide concrete trail runs from the I-275
underpass through the Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park along the east side
of the Hillsborough River to the northern boundary
of Tampa Preparatory School.

Recreation Complex and Columbus Avenue. With the proposed plans for the
Heights Development across the river to extend the Riverwalk to North
Boulevard, a five mile "River Loop" via Glenwood Avenue to the
Columbus Drive Bridge may also be created.
