Projects Under Development

The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department has been working for over a decade to identify opportunities for greenways and trails. Much progress has been made in identifying areas for conservation and trails that connect parks, schools and residential areas.

The City has been grouped into six Greenway Areas:

• South Tampa Greenway
• Bayshore Boulevard Greenway
• Hillsborough River Greenway
• West Tampa Greenway
• McKay Bay Greenway
• New Tampa Greenway

Projects are in development in each of these areas. Tampa's Parks and Recreation Department actively seeks out grants and outside funding sources to assist in the acquisition of land and construction of trails and related amenities. Private developer participation is also encouraged.
