General Employees Retirement Fund

The General Employees' Retirement Fund is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of seven members. Three are elected by the City's active employees, with the exception of employees who have entered the Deferred Retirement Option Program (the "DROP"); three are appointed by the Mayor; and the other is the Director of Finance. The Board approves pension benefits and manages the assets in the General Employees' Retirement Fund. It meets every third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 P.M. in the fifth floor Conference Room of the Municipal Office Building located at 306 East Jackson Street. Everyone is welcome to attend, and the minutes of the meetings are available online.
