AMERICA RECYCLES DAY SCHOOL PLEDGE CARD CONTEST

November 15, 2008 is America Recycles Day (ARD). ARD is a national event that focuses on the importance of recycling and buying products made with recycled content. It has never been more important to recycle. The average American creates over a ton of trash per year, over half of which could be recycled and most often is wasted instead. Every person can make a difference and that is what ARD is all about!

In celebration of this event, the Department of Solid Waste is encouraging Hillsborough County public and private schools to participate! By completing a recycling pledge card, individuals are committing to do more to protect the environment through their recycling efforts.
