Stop Signs and Traffic SignalsStop sign and traffic signal installations must confirm to the U.S. Department of Transportation Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices. This manual requires a study be conducted to determine, among other things, traffic and pedestrian volumes, number and type of accidents at the location, and sight distances. City traffic and regulatory signs number in excess of 88,000 of which 5,300 are replaced or repaired annually. There are over 500 signalized intersections within the City limits to which the department responds 7,600 times per year for repair or service. Requests for sign or signal repair can be relayed directly to the department at (813) 622-1940 , 24-hours per day. You can report a missing, damaged, or not visible street sign online when the situation does NOT require immediate attention. Do not use this service for a STOP, ONE WAY, YIELD, DO NOT ENTER signs or ANY TRAFFIC SIGNAL / LIGHT. Instead, please call (813)622-1940 for immediate attention.
