The Construction Services Division is part of the
Growth Management and Development Services Department.
Construction Services is a one-stop shop for all construction
permit and inspection needs. The division reviews construction
plans, issues permits, and performs the necessary inspections to
ensure building projects are built safely and in compliance
with state and local codes and regulations helping to create a
vibrant, livable, and safe-built community. Whether you are
remodeling a home, building your dream house, or constructing a
high-rise building, we look forward to serving you.
Fees Increased on January 5, 2009
The
Construction Services Division has completed a
comprehensive Cost of Services study to
determine our cost of issuing permits and
conducting inspections. As a result of this
study, a resolution was passed by City Council
on October 16, 2008 to increase our permit fees
in order to cover these costs. The fee increase
will be implemented over a two (2) year period
with Phase 1 scheduled for implementation on
January 5, 2009 and Phase 2 scheduled for
implementation on January 1, 2010.

Partial Suspension of Express Permits Online
The Construction Services Division is in the
process of updating the permitting system in
order to accommodate the new fee schedules.
We will begin collecting the new permitting fees
for all new projects beginning January 5, 2009.
In order to accomplish this update, new trade
permits and new projects will be temporarily
suspended from being issued via Express Permits
until the Housing Services System can begin
posting the new fees.
In order to minimize the impact to our trade
contractors we have temporarily created an Email
Express Permits Service. After completing the
Express Permits Application click on the Email
button, located in the top right-hand corner.
Please include your payment information in the body
of the email.
Please note, Adobe Reader
version 8 or higher is required to fill out the
application.
Construction Services is committed to providing
24-hour turnaround for Express Permit applications
received during this time. The issued permit
and payment receipt will be emailed back to you.
Please note:
For construction projects created on January 4, 2009
and prior, Express Permits will continue to be
available to obtain additional permits and request
inspections for the project .
We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary
interruption may cause our customers. We look
forward to restoring Express Permits to 100% of its
functionality. If you have any questions
